Swiftships Ready to Deal With the Expected Flooding at the Shipyard

For immediate release: May 15, 2011
For the past two weeks, the Swiftships team has been working diligently and feverishly to protect its shipyard in Morgan City, LA, from the impending flooding of the area due to the opening of the Morganza Spillway. Calvin Leleux, President of Swiftships, said “in order to maintain production and operations, about $15 million worth of equipment and under-construction vessels have been moved to other yards and other hulls have been elevated.” Swiftships is confident that, with all the hard work of its employees and friends, they will be able to withstand the Army Corps of Engineers expected water levels. “We have prepared ourselves for the worst while hoping for the best from the good Lord,” said Lutfi Hassan, the Chairman and CEO of Swiftships.
